Team Penobscot went on their June Overnight on Tuedsay, June 23 through Wednesday, June 24. We braved the rain and the thunderstorms, and started off with a food shop, then headed straight to Owls Head Transportation Museum for a boomerang workshop. Ethan Yankura of OHTM taught us all about the cultural significance of boomerangs, taught us how to build them, and also how to throw them! Everyone made their own, and we were able to practice in the field at Camden Hills State Park, where we spent the night. The night was filled with laughter, oreo competitions, games, and meaningful conversations. On Wednesday, we packed up our tents, ate breakfast, played some clothes pin tag, and headed off on our hike up Mount Megunticook. We couldn’t have asked for a better day for a hike! We spent a while at the top, eating lunch and journaling. It was beautiful, and everyone rocked it. We then headed back to Oceanside West, feeling excited for our next adventure throughout New England in just a few weeks on our core Advanced Trekkers expedition!
