Twenty six artists have submitted artwork for Trekkers’ ‘Journey into Art’ Silent Art Auction on Wednesday, July 25. In a setting overlooking the ocean, join us for an evening of art inspired by and benefiting Trekkers at the Steel House South building on Main Street in Rockland from 6-8pm. The artwork can be pre-viewed online at www.trekkers.org.
The artists’ submissions are centered around the theme of “journey” and they will share how this theme inspired their artwork. Journey is a theme dear to the Trekkers mission. An integral aspect of the program is the journey that students take over six years, with their caring mentors helping them to grow into resilient, thriving, responsible adults that have acquired the skills they need to identify and realize their aspirations.
All the money raised at this Silent Art Auction will support Trekkers continuing efforts and mission as a long-term program that connects young people with caring mentors and leverages out-of-classroom learning to help students grow into resilient, thriving, responsible people. With guided support from adult mentors and deeply committed volunteers, Trekkers students work hard, have fun, form life-long relationships, expand their world-views, take supported risks, build resiliency, and acquire the skills they need to identify and realize their aspirations.
The Silent Art Auction will take place on Wednesday, July 25 from 6-8pm at Steel House South, located at 639 Main Street in Rockland. It is free admission, with a cash bar and light hors d’oeuvres. This beautiful artwork will be bid on during the evening in a silent auction format, with the tables of artwork closing towards the end of the evening. The artwork would make wonderful gifts for family members and friends, including birthday presents, special occasion and Christmas gifts.
The artists participating in this project include: Sherry Barker Abaldo, Josef Albers, Angela Anderson, Kim Bernard, Annie Bailey, Geoff Bladon, David Blanchard, Elizabeth Kate Braestrup, Sam Cady, Julie Crane, Kathleen A.
