Neal Young, Class of 2010

In 2014, Neal served an AmeriCorps term with Trekkers as a Program Coordinator. As part of his job at their organization, he coordinated Big Trek/Little Trek at the St. George School and Trekkers’ tutoring program, along with helping to plan upcoming trips. He has also served as an adult leader on several Trekkers expeditions. He is currently attending the University of Southern Maine to finish his degree in International Studies and continue working with young adults as a resident assistant in one of the USM’s dormitories.

Neal says, “Trekkers gave me the confidence to pursue my passions and the emotional tools to overcome difficult moments in life. I feel very fortunate to be volunteering at Trekkers, where I can give back to the organization while doing what gives me energy.”
